Lead Carpenter
Job Summary:
Komorowski Construction Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. As a Lead Carpenter, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of carpentry tasks on residential and commercial construction projects. You will lead and guide a team of carpenters, coordinate carpentry work with other trades, and oversee the implementation of safety standards and building codes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship, leadership experience, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Supervision:
Lead and manage a team of carpenters to ensure all carpentry tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Coordinate carpentry work with other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
Ensure that all work adheres to the high standards of quality set by Komorowski Construction Company.
Carpentry Work:
Perform a variety of carpentry tasks including, but not limited to framing, door and window installation, cabinetry installation and trim work.
Interpret blueprints, project specifications, and technical drawings to execute carpentry tasks accurately.
Provide hands-on carpentry support and lead by example in the completion of tasks.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Inspect work performed by the team to ensure it meets Komorowski Construction’s high standards for quality and precision.
Identify and resolve any carpentry-related issues or discrepancies on-site, ensuring that solutions align with project goals and client expectations.
Material Management:
Work with project managers and suppliers to ensure timely ordering and delivery of necessary materials.
Monitor material usage, maintain inventory, and track any potential wastage to ensure that the project stays within budget.
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working condition and properly stored.
Team Leadership and Development:
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior carpenters and apprentices, helping them develop their skills and ensure a high level of craftsmanship.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and productivity.
Delegate tasks effectively based on team members’ strengths and project priorities.
Safety and Compliance:
Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: At least 5-10 years of carpentry experience with a proven history of performing high-end carpentry projects. Leading carpentry teams or managing carpentry projects.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, including all aspects of framing and finish carpentry.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and train a team of carpenters and apprentices.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with project managers, clients, and team members.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges and develop efficient, practical solutions in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy materials as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.
Experience in Commercial Projects: Familiarity with commercial construction is a plus.
License: A valid drivers license
